Our founder Gareth West has known repeated success in identifying depressed real estate markets and finding lucrative opportunities in immovables. Starting from the ground up, Gareth began by flipping homes over 20 years ago. Shortly after the 2008 financial crisis had decimated real estate values in the South, he raised funds for the purchase of a portfolio of residential homes outside the Atlanta area which he sold in 2014. West Developments was established the following year in Montreal.
To build modern custom homes for affluent families in desirable and trending communities; to acquire land for the development of multi-unit residential and mixed-use buildings, with an emphasis on ROI to investors and capital partners by using government-subsidized programs aimed at increasing population density and affordable housing; to invest in existing commercial/residential buildings, identifying those in which the Value Add Model will permit for the expeditious exit of capital through refinance after renovation.

West Developments was opened in 2016 after selling a small portfolio of residential homes outside the Atlanta area, when I had the vision for custom construction in Montreal. The proceeds from the Atlanta sale funded the purchase of land in an up-and-coming suburb in Montreal ideal for custom construction.
Traditional builders, in my opinion, put too great an emphasis on their bottom line at the expense of a beautiful, finished product. The results of which are cookie-cutter communities we are all too familiar with and equally tired of living in.
With many residential builds now under my belt, my intention is to apply the same attention to detail and standards of construction to both multi-unit residential and commercial projects. To this end, West Developments has purchased land in these respective zonings, with the goal of growing the traction already established in the single family housing market.
